I just found your blog and feel as though I've found a new friend! One more reason to love cyber space!

Hi, I have been a fan of your blog for awhile now but this is the first time I've really felt the need to chime in. I feel the exact same way some times, and anytime it hits me I think of the movie "Mr. Holland's Opus" - in case you missed it, it's a story about a man who feels he failed at his life ambition until he finds out just how many lives he's touched. And that is my point here - you don't know how many lives you've touched. It's unfortunate that our culture only values "the best, the biggest, the most money, the thinnest" - but how boring would life be if that was all this world held! Some of us aren't here to "achieve achieve achieve," even if we started out thinking that was our path. Some of us are here to inspire and support others, and help others to grow (alongside ourselves). A building cannot be built without a foundation. From our limited perspective, who is really to say that the basement, or the 10th floor, or the penthouse is the most important part of a sky scraper, even if the penthouse has the most perceived "value." That said, I find your blog extremely intelligent and thought provoking. You make a difference in my life.

What she said. ;-)
